Sunken
city Kekova: The island Kekova
lies on the headland Kale,
previously known as Simena. The ancient Simena
was rebuilt into Kale as new houses were built
on the remains of a medieval castle. A seaquake
caused a lowering of the seabed., so giving rise to
the sunken city as the whole dock and
parts of the former Byzantine city went under water.
A
feeling of reverence overcomes every visitor as they tour
the sunken city of Kekova by boat.
