Pamukkale:
Verbally translated „cotton-castle" calls it. Once the place of the
ancient city Hierapolis (2th Centruy B.C.) Also the wonder of nature
„Pamukkale", with that -up to 100 meters high large snow-white „bathtubs"
of calc-sinter. Here one can arise in 35 degrees hot spring water. Already
Greeks and Romans let to presumably be it in the warm cymbals. The water
is strongly lime and coal-acidic. The lime builds before all in the colder
winter months the calc-sinter, one speaks of calc-sinter terraces. Since
1994 the limestone terraces shine slowly again in new white, nevertheless
a hotel that filled it's pool with the spring water was built before
around the main source around. The terraces had suffered through the
missing influx of the origin source very much and discolored themselves
for a dirty grey. To a big pressure of conservationists final, the
government has the field Pamukkale in Ankara -incl. the surrounding
ancient places- as the Pamukkale Nature Conservation Park declares. The
there founded hotels are supposed to be torn down again. Next to
Cappadocia belongs Pamukkale to one of the presumably most interesting
landscapes of Turkey and are unique miracle works on the world.
